Glenbrook Little Athletics Centre is located at Glenbrook Oval, Great Western Highway Glenbrook, NSW, Australia.
Our Competition
Our Season starts late September and concludes in Mid March the following year. We cater for Tiny Tots (4yrs old by Sept 30th) upto U17s. We compete on Saturday mornings starting with a warm up at 8.15 am, with the first event getting underway at 8.30 am. Our Tiny Tots compete for 1 hour, the younger groups U6,U7 and U8 generally compete till approx 10am. The rest of the groups take til approx 10.30 or 11am to compete.
Each group does at least 2 field and 2 track events every week, these events are listed here.. events.
It is a requirement to wear a Club uniform, it is important you get this uniform on the registration days, we cannot guarantee availibility till after season starts. You can usually get 2/3 or more seasons out of an uniform, the costs are on the main page.
Unlike most other sports, Athletics requires the assistance of many parents to enable competition to go ahead. We are lucky at Glenbrook that most of our track officials (starters, timekeepers etc) are Association Officials. So parents only need to help out place judging, parents are expected to go with their childs group, or one of their childs group.This enables you to assist with the measuring or raking sand etc, and gives the children double pleasure in having their parent do their sport with them.
Our points/awards are based on personal improvement rather than 1st, 2nd 3rd etc. Athletes are awarded 1 point for each event, 2 points for equalling their PB (personal best) or 3 points for bettering their PB. At season end, these points are totalled and trophies awarded.
When you register your child, you will recieve our Season Handbook, which outlines this and all the information required to compete at Glenbrook.
